A 63 year old grandmother from the New Forest believes her life has been saved after giving blood at her local health centre.
Jan Grasham attended to give her 57th blood donation in August 2007 and was surprised to be told to see her GP after the blood results were received and they thought she may have Anaemia. Upon further blood testing Jan was diagnosed with bowel cancer and feels that it would never have been detected had she not attended to give blood as she was displaying no symptoms at the time. Jan has now been cancer free for 2 years.
